Installation
Rotor 2.0.0 runs on Blender 5.0 or newer (Windows, macOS, Linux) and has no external dependencies. Pick either install method below, then verify.
Drag and drop
The quickest way to install:
- Download
rotor.zipfrom Superhive or Gumroad. - Drag the
rotor.zipfile directly into the Blender window. - In the dialog that appears, enable the checkbox to confirm.
That’s it — the add-on is installed and active.
Alternative: install from disk
If you prefer the Preferences workflow:
- Open Edit > Preferences > Add-ons.
- Click Install from disk and pick the
rotor.zipfile. - Enable the checkbox next to rotor in the list.
Either method leaves you with the same result: the Mirror tool ready to use in both Object Mode and Edit Mesh.
Verify the install
Press Alt+X. If the Mirror gizmo appears in the viewport, you’re set.
The Mirror tool also lives in the toolbar. Press T to reveal it. If you have the Blockout add-on installed, Rotor places itself directly under Blockout.

Troubleshooting
Alt+X does nothing
- Make sure you have an object or mesh selected — the gizmo only appears with a selection.
- Confirm you are in Object Mode or Edit Mesh; the tool does not run elsewhere.
- Check that the add-on is enabled under Edit > Preferences > Add-ons (search for rotor).
The tool is missing from the toolbar
- Rotor requires Blender 5.0 or newer. Older versions are not supported.
- Try restarting Blender after enabling the add-on.
